We have all heard about the “New Evangelization” and the question of “how can we keep the young in the pews or attracts them in?” But have you ever heard of the “Latin Mass” or “Mass in the Extraordinary Form”? Chances are you haven’t or if you have you think of old people or an extinct Mass that is only to be seen in black and white YouTube videos.
However, you might be surprised that there is probably a Latin Mass in your diocese. What might be even more surprising is that there is a lot of interest for the Latin Mass among the young and our young seminarians.
On June 13, 2008, Pope Benedict’s goal is that Latin Mass be offered in every single parish. So I would encourage you to go and check out a Latin Mass if you haven’t before. If you are in the United States you can click here for more information. If you are in Canada you might have to do some digging but here are some areas Hamilton, Toronto, London, Vancouver, Calgary, FSSP (Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter).
